The unforgettable Tibet trip!

Tomorrow will be the last day of PRP, and Friday will be the last day finishing my degree. I can't explain what I'm feeling now. Happy but little bit sad as well, complicated tho.

I'm still working on my final presentation of PRP, while i'm looking at those photos took last summer in Tibet. They are so amazing! I was thinking about riding bike to Tibet again this summer, if possible. A bike, a package, a camera, a iphone with all my music, and then GO! hope the dream could come true this summer!

The drama piece

I finally put the video on Vimeo. The drama project was a romantic story, working with my friends of my first year. I acted and helped editing of Alce Chung. There is not any dialogue in the video because I wanted to try show theme by using montage.

The lighting is the most difficult part in the film especially the sequences which the boy smoking at backyard. We tried several times to set lighting at the backyard but it didn't working and overexplosure, so we chose shooting without light but just the light of cigarette.

Artefact 4

The purpose of the artefact is exploring how changes on the format of digital television, especially the high definitions (HD) format have changed the programme format. There is an experiment with 10 participants, were asked for watching three specific programs of different types: The X Factor, The National Geographic Channel and Desperate Housewives. And all of participants have equipped with HDTV at home.
The results of X factor shows that there are 4 participants watched the on television; 3 watched on computer and two of them watched in HD format; and other 3 watched on mobile phones.
For the National Geographic Channel, 8 participants prefer watching it on HDTV and most of them express that the high quality graphic would show audience more detail so that let people get involved in it better.
Furthermore, the Desperate Housewives shows another different result. Only 2 participants watched it on television, and 6 participants prefer watching it on computer and others watched on mobile phone. Most of them gave the reason was: people would not participant in some interactive discuss and response in advance, like sending message to discuss or vote. And the programme can also be found online in HD format.
The results show that 57% participants prefer watching those programmes with HD format because the quality gave them visual enjoyment. Almost 86% of those participants, who watched it on the mobile phone, were watching the standard format. They claim that tiny screen of mobile phone can provide almost the same quality with HD quality on the computer and television.
In conclusion, for audiences, HD format is particularly gave deep impact to those programmes which offer high quality for the graphics, such as Film, Music, Sports, Geographic and so on. And offer less for those programmes which specific on narrative and storytelling.

Artefact 3

The third artefact is created for exploring how frequent people using mobility devices, in particular what functions people always use based on 3G and Wifi technology and the development of interactivity and mobility.

There are 68 results, and age of participants is variety, from 18 to 35+. The survey consists of 10 questions as usual and divided into two parts. The first part focus on mobile phones so I choose three popular products: Iphone, Ipod and Blackberry. Because all of them are famous of their interactivities, such as Youtube of Iphone/Ipod, Messenger of Blackberry, Facebook special version for them. There are 35% participants using Iphone/Ipod and 55% of them are in 18-25 age group. And 31% participants using the Blackberry and centralized in 25-35 age groups.
Furthermore, from those 34% participants who have not got these three devices above, the data shows that 46% of them using other brand phones equipped with 3G or Wifi, 50% of their phones without 3G or Wifi, and others do not using mobile phones at all.
The second part specific on researching how frequent people using laptops. 62% participants like always taking their laptop with them, and 50% of them are in the group of age 18-25. In addition, 26% participants do no like taking laptops everywhere, and also centre on the group of 18-25. Beside, there are 12% participants do not have a laptop. And most of them use laptop also for entertainment and social networking by 3G and Wifi.

In conclusion, the development of interactivities and mobility has not only changed the porgrammes format but also changed way of our lives. Nowadays, you do not need to sit there to wait for the 6pm news and any programmes you missed but watch them by clicking buttons on your phones.

The second artefact is created for exploring how people understand the interactive media format, in particular the interactive advertisement. Participants have given two websites of different types of advert of Thinkpad X100e, one of them is a worldwide advert in HD format, and the other is an interactive one. After watching and browsing these two adverts, participants gave results of the questionnaire.
In the 127 survey results, the age group of participants is variety, from 18 to 35 and above. The survey consists of 10 questions, is divided into three parts: the first part focus on the traditional advert, the second one is for researching the interactive one, and other parts is trying to find out the acceptance of interactive media format.
The results show that 86% of participants prefer interactive advert, of which 54% of the results concentrated in the group of age 18 to 25. However, in the 10% of the middle-aged group, nearly 70% of the participants prefer simple and traditional advert format. And they claimed that they haven’t got time to browse and play it.
The results from gender perspective, 92% out of 68% female participants are more inclined to the interactive one, but only 30% of male participants prefer it. And most of them thought that interactive advert is too complicated to them. There are some factors might influence the results, such as 24% of female participants like the fashion guy in the interactive advert, Chinese government in the second half of 2009 released a new policy of developing the interactive multimedia.
In conclusion, the results and comments show that teenager’s acceptance of interactive adverts is relatively high. But middle-aged participants more concerned with price and functions of a product, and they would not like to spend money on a product because of gorgeous advertisements.

The first artefact is created for researching the situation of how the recent changes in digital production have changed the programming production format. This questionnaire is trying to summarize that people think how these changes in digital production has influenced their lives.

In the 118 survey results, the age of participants is variety, from 18 to 35+. The survey consists of 10 questions divided into three parts: the first part focus on the mobility, the second one is for researching 3D, and the other part is find out what the people favorite format of existing media types.
There are 28% participants using Iphone or Blackberry. And 58.8% of the remaining 72%, who use other brands, they bought mobile phones being equipped with 3G or Wifi function. Most of them claim that 3G or Wifi is strong mobility and convenient.
72.4% participants have watched 3D film. Some of them point out that the glasses are not comfortable and dizziness. However, 61.3% of them still indicate that they enjoy watching 3D film and pleased to spend little more money on it because it gave audiences visual impact.
The survey shows that except Facebook, Google and other search engines, YouTube or other video sharing websites is participants most often browse. 44.1% of them choose watching programmes on the computer, 32% choose watching through mobile phone and others choose television. Most of participants gave the reason that computer and mobile phone are portable and convenient. And there are more abundant resources on the Internet so we could watch what we want anywhere and anytime through 3G or Wifi.

In conclusion, this survey is trying to know the situation of how people participant in digital production. I will specific on each field, such as YouTube, 3D film, interactive film etc in the next artefacts.

This advertisement is not only show a video, but you can also can control the characters. From this website, you can enjoy changing your characterize by changing different photo frames. It is also the new special function of this laptop. As long as you have a picture in your computer, you could change characters from the website. For example, if you take a photo from your webcam, and just put the picture on the website in different characterize. And then, the program will show you an animated video of your own.

I obey to shoot video clips of the boy. He is my best friend Johnny Shi, a poplar youth actor and singer. But follow the rules of the company, which he is working for, I cannot post the original copy of the video clips.

I finally defeated the client project agreement form. I have discussed with my client several times. And I will go to London meet their manager of Retail banking department. They offer to produce a series of adverts to promote theri products, such as credit card, debit card etc.

This is a commercial advert of the Great Wall credit card of Bank of China three year ago. It's good example of commercial drama advert. There are many famous Chinese actors and actresses in this advert. :)

Digital Culture is a good book for understanding the New Media. It is a new recommanded book on Amzone. I have read several chapters and got some helpful notes.

How interactive kills a film? - Linear vs Non Linear Editing

After today's tutrial with Deborah, I have got new insprition about my research. Because I'm good at editor, my research would focus on how to be a smart editor to recreate a film and tell a story clearly and dramatically.

The interactive of new media gives us a new way to edit a film - the Non-linear editing. So I'm wondering if I could focus my research topic on the advantages and disadvantages between Liner and Non-linear editing.

In the early days of electronic video production, linear (tape-to-tape) editing was the only way to edit video tapes. Then, in the 1990s, non-linear editing computers became available and opened a whole new world of editing power and flexibility.

Non-linear editing was not welcomed by everyone and many editors resisted the new wave. In addition, early digital video was plagued with performance issues and uncertainty. However, the advantages of non-linear video eventually became so overwhelming that they could not be ignored.

In the 21st Century non-linear editing is king and linear editing is widely considered to be obsolete, or at least primitive. This is an understandable attitude considering the advantages of non-linear editing, but we urge you not to be too judgemental. Linear editing still has some advantages:

1.It is simple and inexpensive. There are very few complications with formats, hardware conflicts, etc.

2.For some jobs linear editing is better. For example, if all you want to do is add two sections of video together, it is a lot quicker and easier to edit tape-to-tape than to capture and edit on a hard drive.

3.Learning linear editing skills increases your knowledge base and versatility. According to many professional editors, those who learn linear editing first tend to become better all-round editors.

Although the "linear vs non-linear" argument is often subjective and some editors will disagree with the statements above, there can be little doubt that increasing your skill base is a good thing. There is nothing to be gained by completely rejecting linear editing, and much to be gained by adding it to your repertoire.

EXT. TINA - BALCONY - MORNINGIt is a MEDIUM SHOT. Tina is smoking lean on the barrier on the balcony. We could see the beautiful scenery which the blue sky and red brick houses behind her. She is overlooking the beautiful landscape and drinking a cup of warm coffee ever and agah. There is a CLOSE-UP shot of her from the right side. She is looking forward and smoking frequently. INT. TINA - DINING-ROOM - MORNINGThere is a CLOSE-UP SHOT of Tina writing an address on an blank envelope. There are some colorful cards on the table. She is writing slowly with kind of hesitation. Then she put down the pen and begin cleaning floor. Then she changes her dress and prepare to go out. She is staring the envelope for a seconds and put it in her bag. Tina is going out. The door is closing.

EXT. TINA - THE CANAL SIDE - NOON Tina is couchant and feeding ducks. Some ducks fly toward her some times and we could hear the birdcall. The CAMERA is on the left side and we could not see her emotion but the beautiful long black hair.There is a platform beside at the canal side. Some green plants and few trees around the platform. She is walking around on the platform, sometimes standing, sometimes couchant, sometimes hold the barrier. Some people are walking or riding pass the path looking at her and give her a smile. She walks towards a red mailbox and stands for a seconds, then put that envelope into the mailbox.

EXT. FOX AND TINA - BACK YARD - AFTERNOONFox and Tina are pruning trees in the back yard. They are playing the water when they irrigating plants. There is a rainbow appear in the sunshine. It is a young love story. The two youngsters spent the whole college years together. But one day, the boy offers to break up with the girl. She doesn't fight for a reason, but starts to live her life by herself.

2. A canal near Nottingham train station (comparing with exciting London, Nottingham has its own charm to let people peaceful.)
3. City square of Nottingham (her first step getting to know and really living in a strange city.)
4. London underground ( it is sort of a personal custom. I like to stay in buses, tubes or trains and looks blank or dates back things in my mind,not only negative things, but also positive things.)
5. A house with a back-yard in London ( sweet memory of the past.)
6. Shanghai Blues Restaurant in London ( the stylish Chinese restaurant and blues bar.)
7. Oxford Circus in London ( a real crowded street in London. it is for the mood of hiding my feelings in the crowd and missing him deeply in my heart with some many memory in London.)

In my opinion, it is easier to shoot sweet scenes with a real couple. And that's why I choose a couple from my friends. Also, to choose this girl as my actress really took me some time to do. But when I think of her icy face and a little bit cold temper, it makes her the best choice of actress for me. More important, she's been through a break-up with her ex-boyfriend, and the experience would easier for her to understand my little drama.

How could new media be uesd to resurrect a tradional media?

The new media as a burgeoning and rising industry in China, making the market full of vitality. The new media and traditional media are in the era of competition and cooperation. The new media impact traditional media in some field. More and more people use Blackberry and Iphone through 3G(3rd Generation) instead of reading newspaper on the way to work in the morning. Most people take a pessimistic of the old media would be replaced by the new technology.

In my opinion, the new media could be survived by new media. For the research project, I have interviewed some people on the phone these days. Mr. Defu Zhu who the General Editor of the newspaper Beijing Times told me his opinion. New media is just a form compare with the traditional one and the difference is just content. There is no conflict between paper-based media and new media. For Beijing Times, Mr.Zhu said he didn’t feel any impact from new media. As a local newspaper, he thanks to the Internet giving a good advertisment effect to reader.

As a on-line shopping addict, I was thinking about the way I buying things. I buy Japanese and Chinese magazine termly in London and then buy the similar style dress on-line. So I have also called Mr. Yu Zhang who the vice-president of TaoBao on-line shopping website which similar with Ebay in China. He told me that Taobao benefit from many magazines especially fashion one. More and more girls are crazy about shopping on Taobao follow the fashion magazine. He has a friend who work for a fashion magazin so they always share information. Both of them have promoted the development indeed.

I have paid more attention on it. Mr. Xiaoning Cao is a well-known theatrical producer, director and the visiting professor of University of California Berkeley. He is the director of new China opera ‘The White Snake’. I was honored to have the opportunity talking and working with him during the last summer vacation. He told me when he lived aboard, he found the China opera has became interspersion of people killing time rather than a high quality performance arts. It is shame and pathetic for Chinese. Mr.Cao said ‘The opera could not decay in the museum.’ ‘The White Snake’ combined modern musical structure and rhythm, mulitmedia images, Chinese classical dance, acrobatics and many other artstic elements. The purdah of traditional Chinese opera was replaced by a 16-meter-long,9-meter-high panoramic LED screen. Multimedia video background make Peking Opera has the visual effects as fantastic movie.

American media scholar Dennis said, ‘we are witnessing a unified media Kingdom appear.’ The reason is that the traditional distinction of printing technology and broadcasting technology are disappearing because of new media. Traditional media and new media required developing in the competition and collaboration.

Title the film--- The Number 23

We were watching the Number 23 and discussing how to title a film. Before watching the cast, we were thinking about what the 23 represent. David Beckham? Of coures not! lol

We could see the 23 everywhere everyday but it is represent bad luck and historical things. There is an old and yellowed paper show on the screen and then blood splash on the paper. We could see the number of 23 showing on the paper but we could also recognize the cast from the complicated numbers. It is making audience curious about the meaning of the '23'. The font and colour of 'the number of 23' are old and historical.

My favourite director is Wong Kar-wai and I love the motion of 2046 the most. The montage of 2046 is really nice especially using yellowed colour as the tone of the film. It could remind audience's memory and lead us into the film.

Thinking about my film, it is a romantic film showing by montage. There is few dialogue but I try to express idea by meaningful sequences. The story is about a girl missing her ex-boyfriend after breaking up with him. I have shot some rutine life of the girl like she doing the same thing day and night. We could see and learn how the girl grow up from the broken relationship from the film. After talking with Deborah, I know the begining and the ending of my film. To make it meaningful and sympolized to letting people know more about the film. I want to use the growing and fresh plant to show my title sequence. There are sapless and healthy leaves growing on the wall and put the cast on each leaves. The the most fresh coin my main actress representing her optimistic and hopeful for life.

I had a nice conversation with Jools as well! It was about the assignment 2, the research project. My first idea was 'how multimedia influence magazine'. The idea was from the conversation with manager of the Wallpaper magazine. Jools gave some useful advice, as I could talk about the connection between magazine and web. Because I found the placement in the Wallpaper in London so there are some convient resource I could use. I could get some useful and important information from the process of their work in the Wallpaper.
I was thinking about the Chinese specialist while I was talking with my mum on the phone. The China opera is being lost so some people want to make some changes on the old organization. I found a placement in an animation company in Beijing. They response for making the costume and 3D background of the new opera repertoire called 'The White Snake' which is a famous and traditional opera. I response for doing some resarch and drawing some script. Few people like watching traditional opera except some senior people. It is pathetic. The Ministry of Culture suggest making a new opera with new techniques.
The multimedia is a new and rising industry so there is a activated and healthy market. The government has settle many big multimedia base which people could study and practise at there with less money. There are also some markets built up in Beijing. People who love arts live in some old factories and loft. Maybe they are not artist but some of them have amazing ability and professional skills on arts. Throught these, I want to do the research of 'how multimedia affect China'. It should be the special one. I hope people could know more about China through the project!

Surgery with Deborah

I have a nice surgery with Deborah! I've got a lot from the conversation!
We watched some parts of my footage and there were many details I didn't notice during shooting progress. I always focus on how to enrich the story but ignore some details. There were some shots I almost reach the 'fantastic' but lose on the detail.
The film is a love story. I tried to make it in drama way. There is few dialogue and showing idea and motion in visual and music. I was also tring making music by myself this time. Piano and soft music is my first choice. I would try my best! lol
There are some shots I want to film again. There are some problems as over-exposure, wrong white balance. I will try fix them in editing but if it doesn't work, I would shoot some sequences again. Plans can not keep up with changes. So I will try my best to consider everything.
Deborah and I also talking about the difference between the teaching method in UK and in China. There was almost no 'health and safty' stuff in China so we could go anywhere we want to. Maybe as Deborah said, China is my home so my parents could take the responsibility. Anyway, the health and safty things are necessary.

1. 传媒业对于数据调查普遍信任，但对WPP对中国数据调研市场的垄断知晓程度尚低。　　2008年之前，中国的收视率调查公司一直以央视-索福瑞和AC尼尔森为主。1997年12月4日，由原央视调查咨询中心和法国索福瑞（Sofres）集团合作正式成立了央视-索福瑞媒介研究（CSM）。CSM目前拥有世界上最大的电视观众收视调查网络。除CSM外，在中国收视率调查业中另一家较重要的公司是AC尼尔森公司（2005年后变更为AGB尼尔森），该公司采用测量仪方法在全国10多个城市进行收视率调查。在电视收视率市场上，央视-索福瑞占据了全国85%左右的市场份额，AC尼尔森公司占据10%左右。通过调查，我们得知WPP收购CSM几个月来，知道这一情况的为71.43%，而不知道此事的为28.57%。作为传媒业非常重大事件，大家对于此事的知晓程度非常低。这种情况有两个个方面的原因。　　（1）多数广告主、广告公司和电视台从央视-索福瑞或AC尼尔森公司购买数据。42.86%的广告主选择AC尼尔森，28.57%的人选择CSM央视-索福瑞。40%的广告公司选择CTR央视市场研究股份有限公司，30%的广告公司选择央视-索福瑞，10%的广告选择AC尼尔森，20%的广告公司选择其他公司。而对于电视台的调查中，电视台选择的数据调查公司更为集中：选择央视-索福瑞的媒体达到62.5%，选择CTR市场研究达到25%，选择AC尼尔森的电视台达到12.5%。可见AC尼尔森和央视-索福瑞是传媒业常选择的数据公司。　　（2）多数广告主、广告公司和电视台对于两家公司提供的数据比较信任的。基于信任的前提下，就不会去考究调查公司的企业性质，特别品牌的强大影响力会让消费者忽略其原产国家。附表5中，被调查对象普遍认可所选择的调查公司“知名度高而且规模大”，占44.44%，22.22%认为其数据公平公正，技术实力好，另有22.22%认为其服务满意度高。　　然而，外资垄断中国调研数据的事实却不能让人忽视，而其产生的影响也将会在未来的时间慢慢凸显出来。　　2. 收视率结果对于广告主、广告公司、媒体都非常重要，是一些重要决策的依据。　　1998年后，中国政府不再对电视行业提供资金支持，电视行业走入“自负盈亏”的新局面，这种情况下，广告收入成为媒体行业的主要现金收入来源，造成了媒体对于广告的过分依赖。由于收视率调查手法的局限，收视率调查无法细化到“广告收视率”，因此各大媒体主要依据节目收视率作为与广告代理公司谈判的依据，在重大经济利益驱使之下，收视率开始引发媒体行业的激烈竞争。　　随着中国传媒市场的迅速发展，收视率成为观众喜好节目的标准，成为媒体内部运作管理的重要指标，更成为媒体与广告主交易的“货币”。日益激烈的节目竞争、广告竞争使得收视率备受推崇，成为多方决策的标杆。根据中华广告网、《中国经营报》等主办，央视市场研究(CTR)等协办的最新调查表明，2007中国十大广告公司百分之百全部是外资或合资公司。这些公司掌握着中国绝大部分优质客户（国际品牌或国内知名品牌），而这些广告公司几乎无一例外地以收视率为依据进行媒体规划和媒体购买。　　对于广告主来说，认为“收视率非常重要，公司重大广告决策都以此为基础”占42.86%，而0%的广告主认为其不重要。而对于电视台的调查中，收视率对于他们的重要性就非常具体，认为收视率可以评估节目的质量占18.18%，可以确定不同时段广告价格占27.27%，可以了解观众对电视节目的收看习惯占36.36%，认为可以建立资料库做日后的其他研究占18.18%。而对于广告公司来说，收视率主要是为广告主制定科学决策的主要依据，认为非常重要的占66.67%。　　3. 广告主、广告公司、媒体大多会购买两家公司的调查数据，用以权衡。　　调查中，大部分广告公司与广告主等都会选择两家或两家以上的媒体调查数据作为参考。虽然业界对于调查公司数据基本信任，但中国的电视收视率之争却由来已久。　　理想状态下，媒介调研公司应该保持公正和独立，以严谨专业的态度来调查、检测和发布调查数据。中国传媒市场两家寡头数据调研公司并驾齐驱，两股势力的存在却也引发过不少争议。　　首先是关于两家收视率存在差距的争议一直不绝于耳。即使是同一地区同一时段同一部电视剧，AC尼尔森和央视-索福瑞提供的收视率数据也不尽相同。由于两家公司分别采用不同的调查手段。央视-索福瑞主要采用日记法调查观众收视行为，而AC尼尔森为了对抗央视-索福瑞，主要采用测量仪法。两种方法有各自的优缺点，造成最终调查结果的差异。　　其次，由于差异的长期存在，特别是差异较大的时候，有业内人士怀疑调查当中的某些环节是否正确：例如抽样调查户的比例过小和调查人群的经济水平和知识水平过低等。　　另外，一些调查公司在媒体授意下进行的数据调查，或参与到某些媒体的广告推介会等“友好”行为也让人质疑数据调查公司的客观公正性。　　由于尼尔森和央视-索福瑞在收视率的统计结果上存在很大的差异，不少媒体或公司都会选择同时购买两家的数据，在将两者的数据权衡以后，得出公开的收视率。　　4. 收视率的垄断使中国媒介“雪上加霜”。　　虽然对于尼尔森来说，退出收视率调查市场并不意味着全部退出中国市场，但很明显，尼尔森将“中国电视收视率调查”这块非常有诱惑力的蛋糕，全部“谦让”给了央视-索福瑞。尼尔森在电视收视率市场的退出，意味着仅余的一家央视-索福瑞将在收视率调查上独霸市场。　　对于外资大量资本的注入，早在2006年，传媒业就惊呼“狼来了”，我们曾经做过一期专题“媒介购买垄断，中国广告业如何过坎？”2006年阳狮集团（PGM）整合实力传播和星传媒体在中国的媒体购买业务，成立了目前中国最大的媒介购买代理机构—博睿传播。与此同时，WPP在华的扩张规模也在加快。WPP集团通过在全球的并购扩散，打造出媒介购买公司“航母”——群邑（GroupM）。群邑是WPP集团内部所有媒介代理公司的母公司，整合了旗下五个以M开头的媒介购买公司（Mindshare(传立媒体)，Mediacom（竞立媒体），Mediaedge:cia（尚扬媒介），Maxus（迈势媒体）和Motivator（灵立媒体）），2006年其全球营业额高达605.2亿美元，其中，传立媒体、尚扬媒介、领先跻身全球前十位，其营业额总和占前十位媒介购买集团的32.4%。博睿（CMX）、群邑（GroupM）成为中国传媒市场的“强势媒介议价者”。　　如今，传媒格局又发生新的变化，WPP控股央视-索福瑞，带走AC尼尔森大量客户，被迫AC尼尔森退出中国收视率调研市场。外资媒介购买公司一方面掌控媒介的收视率调查数据，另一方面通过调查数据与媒介谈判，压低媒介购买价格，当媒介报价的依据被对手所控制时，中国媒介在这个冬天迎来更加寒冷的现实。对于电视台的调查“您认为WPP垄断调研市场之后，自身商业利益是否会受到影响？”，肯定回答“是”占60%，而认为“不会受影响”占0%。显示出了他们对于这一事件的担忧。　　不仅如此，2007年6月20日成都传媒集团与WPP达成合作意向，采取前者提供部分媒介资源，后者提供资金、客户、咨询以及服务网络的方式，共同投资6000万至1亿元，成立新公司，展开深入合作。跨国广告公司对我国电视媒体内容的影响又迈出了实质性的一步。“狼真的来了！” 　　5. 收视率垄断使得广告主、广告公司态度从坚定转变为模糊。　　而对于广告主和广告公司来说，这种情况也并不乐观。媒介购买公司掌控收视率数据后，多数广告主对于收视率是否还能继续信任表示担忧。另一方面，垄断媒介资源的媒介购买公司可以乘机向广告主提价，而收视率作为广告投放的“风向标”，是否可以继续正确指导中国广告产业的发展方向，值得我们好好思考。　　广告主选择电视媒体时考虑的主要因素中，57.14%选择收视率，说明收视率对于广告投放起着至关重要的作用，另有28.57%考虑媒体的可信度为主要考虑因素。　　我们对广告主态度进行了调查，“您是否认为某领域的调研市场被垄断，会影响调研数据的可信度？”认为会影响的广告主占71.43%，认为很难说的占28.57%，认为不影响的占0%。　　在调查中，我们设置了两道问题进行前后态度对比。前面题为：电视收视率垄断之前，作出重大决策时您会以收视率数据为主要判断标准吗？另一题为：电视收视率垄断之后，作出重大决策时您会以收视率数据为主要判断标准吗？从调查中我们发现，坚定回答“是”的比例从57.14%下降到了42.86%，由此可以判断广告主对于收视率信任度降低，71.43%的广告主对于收视率垄断现状有所顾忌，对将来的发展有所忧虑。　　对于广告公司来说，生存空间可谓愈加艰难。媒介购买部门是广告公司主要利润所在，外资公司的媒介购买垄断很大程度上已经影响到许多本土公司，而收视率垄断更加大了广告公司的决策成本。　　“您认为某一领域的调研市场为某一集团所垄断，是否会影响所服务客户的利益？”广告公司认为有一定程度的影响占66.67%，影响很大的占33.33%，没有丝毫影响的占0%。调查表明，广告公司在担心影响客户利益的同时，对自身的工作也有所担忧。问题“您是否认为某一领域的调研市场为某一集团所垄断，会影响自己公司媒体决策的科学性？”中，50%的广告公司认为有一些影响，而回答“影响非常大”的占16.67%。　　综上所述，WPP对于中国收视率市场的垄断才刚刚开始，但对于这一事件的影响力大家都非常重视，从媒体、广告公司、广告主三个方面的调查看来，虽然也有人对此抱乐观情绪，但绝大部分调查对象还是觉得此事冲击很大，对自身和整个传媒业的发展表示担忧。　　6. 收视率垄断可能会影响到中国的产业发展。　　收视率垄断对中国产业的发展可以细分为这几个方面：进一步影响中国媒介格局；造成中国本土广告公司的重新整合；影响中国人消费观念；影响到中国本土品牌的发展。　　（1）影响中国媒介格局。　　跨国媒介购买公司通过大资本注入，买断媒体时段，这种情况会造成媒体之间的恶意压价竞争，媒介购买公司分割了本应属于媒介的利润空间，使得媒介的发展举步维艰。而跨国媒介购买公司媒介时段最主要是服务于旗下的跨国广告公司客户，这些优质客户（全球性知名品牌和国内大品牌）主要倾向于投放在主流媒体上，这种情况又会造成中小媒介的生存空间进一步压缩，得不到发展的机会。电视媒体格局随着跨国媒介购买公司的介入，形成马太效应——主流媒体发展良好，而中小媒体凭临边缘化。进一步激化造成中国媒介市场的垄断，形成“强公司，弱媒体”的格局。　　（2）影响中国消费观念和文化。　　跨国公司为了追逐资本的最大化，必定以资本主义消费文化为先导。而以电视为代表的大众传媒就成了文化扩散的有力工具。消费文化强调享乐主义、追求及时享乐、注重培养外露的生活方式和发展自恋的个性特征，而为了迎合这一消费文化，刺激大众“欲望”，电视不可避免出现低俗化、庸俗化的倾向。这应该是电视庸俗化的根源。　　而为了刺激中国消费者的消费欲望，跨国公司可谓手段多样。跨国公司通过其在华代言人——“跨国广告公司”，影响中国广告意识形态的发展。而2007年WPP与成都传媒集团的合作使得跨国广告公司对中国传媒内容进一步涉入，利用电视等大众传媒深入影响中国消费者。“润物细无声”，所有的一切我们防不胜防。　　（3）冲击中国本土品牌发展。　　品牌的成长除了自身经营等重要因素之外，离不开广告的宣传。跨国公司因为其优秀的广告创意和科学的媒体投放策略受到许多知名品牌的信任和欢迎，许多知名品牌纷纷投向4A公司，一定程度上造成品牌代理的竞争，中国本土公司能不能在竞争中立足？收视率的信任危机是否会带来广告主的媒体投放困扰，进一步影响其品牌的长远发展？所有的这些我们都拭目以待，更期望媒体、广告公司和广告主的积极应对。

The First Shooting Day in Rutland~!!

This is the first day is a group working day. We went to Diana's home and shot the life of two of them. It was really a long day but hopefully things ran well and we have done all of shooting plan of that day.

It's a lovely sunny day. Hollie and I met at bus station on 9:00 and others went with Stephanie's car. Hollie and I spent a long and nervous trip on the bus cuz we don't know where we should get off. Anyway, after passing the traffic jam we arrived Diana's home!

We shoot Eddie's working time in Barnsdale Lodge at first. It's a warm and comfortable place to shoot. Because there is not too much space in kitchen so Hollie and I went out and took some photos. There were some funny chicken and 'black face' sheep in the back yard! l0l

The next sequence was in Diana's home and we spent most of time at there as well. We have shot all things about the life of 'two of a kind'. I played the role of lighting and sound. Anne help me doing lots of recording stuff. Actually, I have made many notes before our shooting, but it was really difficult when I shooting in really location especially in the dark room. During the interview with Eddie in the afternoon, The room is dark so we set three basic light kit. Because they are always sooo 'hot' so I had to cooling them as soon as possible. During the interview, Anne and I had to hold the mic in front of Eddie all the time so we almost can not feel nothing after the interview. But, it's really comfortable when we listen the none-noise sound in earphone!

Because the camear drank battery so we only shoot about 15 mins in sports hall. However, I thought it really enough for our 4 mins documentary. I have edited some of my work so i knew Hitz would have sooo many work to do... It's about 2 hours footgage we've got...so... It was about 11pm when I arrived home. Hitz, really thank you for sending me back!!

It was really an exicting day and the image of Diana's home is fantastic~!! It was really busy day but it worth!! anyway, I enjoy it very well! lol

We took so many photos as the location and as the evidence as well. I put some of them by the Poladriod way!! I really enjoy the 'origianl' colours!! gorgeous, isn't it?!!

We've got a group meeting on Fri and Hits shown our rough edit clips. Diana and Hits satisified with my music especailly the Guitar one. Soooo happy~~~

1. The 'Happy' one
I've made them by Garage Band on Mac. I have tried to fix some piano and drum rythem into the main guitar sound, and it ran well~!! They could feel the happy motion from the relax guitar! however, the first one always not perfect. Because it is little shorter for our film so I have made a new longer one to make it better.

2. The 'Sad' one
The 'sad' one is too depress to fix our film so i should make a new one. I have made a new one this weekend. I also use guitar as the main sound so it could make our film as a 'whole' one. I'm not sure if it ran well. Just have a try!! I can't upload it anyway...i'm not sure why... try again later...

3. The Piano one

I think it's a special one because I played it by myself! lol Although there was some noise in the sound piece, it runs well with our film. I recorded in my home so there is some noise can not avoid... I've tried to play it on my Garage Band by 'click'

Our documentary work is prossessing to the online edit. I have made my own music clips for the film and also the piano one. I played the piano and record it but it wasn't run well because there was some noise anyway. I tried to play it by Gagrageband but it is too difficult to play it by "click" mouse because there are too many key to play---yep, the black and white.
I suppose to edit the film and now i think I could do it, just for fun~I always think there is few things i could do but now...i will have a busy week~~

The Shot Analys

I prefer this shot the most. It makes a strong sense of the composition. The two men are sepreted by the table in the middle of the shot. The table seems like a partition line making the picture symmetrical. The two men are smoking and the smoke diffuses in the air. It makes a strong motion of the shot. There is also body language in this shot. The ways of the two men sitting, the knee of the man one left is straight and the man on the right feel nervous.

This film lasted for a long time becasue most of scenes I shot with my friends in London. We did so many research to find many location and then chose some of them as candidate. There are some fantastic pics and scenes we found on Flickr and wrote down the address.

I played the heroine as well and the hero is my best friend Nic~ the whole progress was full of fun. I wrote the script as other little film we shot.

The shooting style is for regarding Wong Kar-wai who the famouse Chinese Director I love the most. the style is similar with his famous film called "2046"

The story of Wong Kar-wai

Born in Shanghai, he moved to Hong Kong with his parents at the age of five. Coming from the Mainland and speaking only Mandarin and Shanghainese, he had a difficult period of adjustment to Cantonese speaking Hong Kong, spending hours in movie theatres with his mother. After graduating from Hong Kong Polytechnic College in graphic design in 1980, he enrolled in the Production Training Course organized by Hong Kong Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) and became a full-time television scriptwriter. In the mid-1980s, he became a scriptwriter/director at The Wing Scope Co. and In-gear Film Production Company, the production houses owned by renowned Hong Kong actor /movie producer Alan Tang. Wong's current nostalgic artsy style took shape during his apprenticeship with Alan Tang Kwong-Wing, who invested in the first movie Wong directed, "As Tears Go By" (1988). Wong's career took off when he directed the film "Days of Being Wild" (1990), despite losing Alan Tang millions of invested dollars. Wong subsequently graduated to feature film work. He is credited with about ten scripts between 1982 and 1987, covering an array of genres from romantic comedy to action drama, but claims to have worked to some extent or another on about fifty more without official credit. He considers Final Victory (1986), a dark comedy/crime story for director Patrick Tam, his best script.

Feature films
He made his directing debut in 1988 with As Tears Go By, also produced by Alan Tang. A crime melodrama of the kind then hugely popular, it heavily borrowed from Martin Scorsese's Mean Streets (1974), but already displayed one of Wong's principal trademarks in its atmospheric and sometimes expressionistic color palette. It is his only box office hit to date.
His next film, Days of Being Wild (1991), produced by Alan Tang, a drama about aimless youth set in the early 1960s, established his trademark form: elliptically plotted mood pieces, with lush visuals and music, about the burden of memory on melancholy, misfit characters. Days was a box office failure but now regularly tops Hong Kong critics' polls of the best local films ever made. It has been described as a sort of Cantonese Rebel Without a Cause.
He also established his own independent production company, called Jet Tone Films Ltd. in English. His partner in the company is Jeffrey Lau, a director and producer who tends to work closer to the populist vein of mainstream Hong Kong film.
Wong went on to direct several more feature films in the 1990s produced by Jet Tone, which allowed him to work at his own pace. Among these were Chungking Express (1994), which follows the lives of two love-struck cops in Hong Kong and the mysterious women they meet and fall in love with. Originally intended to be a distraction piece for him to get his mind off of the heavily delayed Ashes of Time, it ended up being one of his most popular films, if not the most popular. Fallen Angels (1995), was originally intended to be the third act of Chungking Express, but when the tone didn't fit with the other two parts, he cut it out and made it a standalone movie instead; it is seen as a semi-sequel to Chungking Express as is a neo-noir film about on a disillusioned killer trying to overcome the affections of his partner, a strange drifter looking for her ex-boyfriend, and a mute trying to get the world's attention in his own ways, all set against a sordid and surreal urban nightscape.
Wong's fourth movie, Ashes of Time (1994), released between Chungking Express and Fallen Angels, applied his approach to a star-studded wuxia (martial arts swordplay) story; the desert shoot in Mainland China dragged on for over a year and resulted in one of contemporary Hong Kong cinema's most notorious commercial disasters.
His first major international recognition was at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival where he won the Best Director prize for Happy Together (1997). A film that "uses gorgeous, saturated images set to an eclectic soundtrack of tango by Argentinian maestro Astor Piazolla, Brazilian singer Caetano Veloso and Frank Zappa instrumentals to chronicle the stormy affair of a gay couple living as expatriates in Buenos Aires."[2] In fact, tracing back to his early career, Wong did celebrate his success without being grateful to his mentor, Alan Tang Kwong-Wing.[citation needed] Wong mentioned Tang's name in his thank you speech at the award ceremony.
Despite his background as a scriptwriter, one of Wong's trademarks as a director is that he works largely through improvisation and experimentation involving the actors and crew rather than adhering to a fixed screenplay. This has been a frequent source of trouble for his actors, his financial backers and many other people connected with his films, including sometimes himself.
The filming of In the Mood for Love (2000) had to be shifted from Beijing to Macau after the China Film Bureau demanded to see the completed script. This was all in all a minor setback in the "very complicated evolution" of the project which goes as far back as 1997. It was Wong's intention to make two films, one of which would be titled Beijing Summer, the plot unclear at the time, but eventually taking form in Macau. Here Wong planned to call it Three Stories About Food, but saw it better to settle for only one story, A Story About Food, that centers on a writer. Together with scenes shot in Bangkok and Angkor Wat, the filming took as long as 15 months. This was an especially arduous time for lead actress Maggie Cheung whose hair and makeup reportedly took a daily five hours, and who appeared in different cheongsams in each scene. She famously compared the lengthy shoot to a cold she couldn't get rid of. Working without deadlines, the film's upcoming premier at Cannes nonetheless put some pressure on Wong to finish editing. Intending to name the film Secrets he was dissuaded by Cannes, and finally named it In the Mood for Love after Bryan Ferry's cover of the song "I'm in the Mood for Love" he was listening to.[3][4]
Wong's 2046 (2004), a film about capturing lost memories, was the third chapter of a shared story that began with Days of Being Wild and continued with In the Mood for Love. Infamous for long drawn out shoots without any real regards to deadlines, a running joke amongst the crew was that he would finish in the year 2046.
In 2006, he became the first Chinese director to preside the jury at the Cannes Film Festival.
Wong Kar-wai's first full English-language film, My Blueberry Nights, opened the 2007 Cannes Film Festival as one of 22 films in competition. The lead, American singer-songwriter Norah Jones, made her acting debut in the film.

Report of Lighting and Shooting

Introduction:
As the background of using a matte painting make a film with lighting techniques around it, most parts of our film has been shot in the dark for practicing the skills.
Our film has been divided into six parts and each part connected with the game: “spell wrong-he’ll swing”. And the theme of our story is around surveillance and the result will be announced at the end of the film.
We have four kinds of lighting and changed them by many ways to express our idea. And on shooting aspect, we not only used the normal pattern of shooting but also used the steady-cam to make more effect by different ways to show.
There are some classic scene from famous films as “Pulp Fiction” and “The Trueman Show”. Most of people who have watched the film like the surprise ending best.

Planning Our Work:
The project offers lighting techniques so we decided shooting at night to show our skills. We borrowed the pag-light, steady-cam and a reflecting board. We have only two weeks to finish the work so we made a tight schedule.
Firstly, choosing story was being the most important thing. I got the idea from the film “Pulp Fiction” (1994). There is a famous and deep-expressive scene of the Marsha was ripe by irrelevant man. We planed to shoot a film like it for practicing the lighting.
Secondly, after choosing the story, we began designing the structure of our work. It seems thin and weak if just telling a wired story so we try to combine it with a game and an open ending.
At last, we began to write our script and drew the sketch. Stella is good at drawing so she responsible for it. We changed it several times and then we decided to begin.
Progress of our work:

At the beginning, we found our friends who have some experience and skills on acting because there are privities between us so that we would save many time on explaining our ideas. After short explaining, we began shooting the film.
The most difficult but important scene is which the wired guy ripe the innocent man. We chose a small room and waiting the night time shooting for the best emotion and affection. All lighting set-up inhabit most space of the tiny room so I have little space to move and shoot. And because the scene offered us using the steady-cam I had to change many ways to adapt the tiny environment making better affection.
And in the same scene, because there are some lenses of making naked affection so we should make them like real. The emotion of the two actors is also important for the scene because it is wired for two men so we made wrong impression on visual for audience. And there is an important advantage that they are acquaintance and knowing each other well so the scene is not too difficult for them.
We plan shooting the easiest scene at the end but the whether was still cloudy and rainy. We waited few days but the deadline is coming so we had no choice. So we changed our idea to shooting the opening in a rainy day to make a depressed emotion.
There is problem occurred during editing that the color is different between the screen of VCR and Macbook. The tone is darker seeing on the computer screen so we had to adapt the color brighter when editing. It was a huge and long progress spending our bunch of time.

Conclusion:
Through this practice, I could control the lighting well and using most skills and theory taught in the class into practical excises. Using lighting correctly is good for expressing the theme and idea felicitously so we should practice these skills more proficiency.

About the Opening Sequence

I wanna add some details about the short opening sequence.

The actor is my friend Alec. And another friend Adam who lived in London, we were classmates in China so we always together so we have perfect privity, especially on film.

This short film shot in Liverpool Street, London, January. We have waited for almost half a month because we need a rainy day and should be on Saturday---the market of Liverpool Street.

I can't decide what name should be given for it so it is an untitle one... it's a pity...

I did the editing afterwards. There is also some problem should be solved, for example, the different effect... I have read the book: FinaCutPro 4 carefully...until now...

The audiovisual production need group work because it impossible to do all things all time, indivisually. I wrote the script, I shot the film, and also edited it. it's really tired...
plus, I have my own work of 3D...

The time managing is really really really important for doing all of these. The schedule is the most important thing!

My first purpose is Media before I changing my major because I studied all things in china is abt Media. I learnt photography, cinematography, editing, history of film especially the hollywood film and so on. I really interested in the audiovisual production and the passion push me to do things well.

When I changed my major, I found Julius and showed my some profolio to him and he thought the multimedia could be my favorite major especially the audiovisual production he mentioned. I knew there are some pathway the next year and I believe AV is the best choice for me.

On strength of my excellent performance in National University Entrance Examinations, I was successfully enrolled by International College of China Agricultural University in September 2006 to study my favorite specialty of Media Production. Admittedly, five months’ professional study in China was a short experience, but was intellectually exhilarating and challenging as well. Our college possesses high-quality teaching facility with all professors from overseas, thus all my courses are taught in English. I have already grasped the basic photography theories and practices, learnt some film editing skills and undertook the comparative studies of Hollywood movies.

I have been in China during my holiday. I travelled to Shanxi province with my friends. We have an idea which record the real life of poor people who working in the coal mine. We talked with one of my friends' father who manage a small coal mine. The kind uncle promised us~ Then we did research on the Internet finding some tips. We also ordered train tickets on the Internet. When we ordering, the cheapest tickets attracted us. The cheapest tickets is the old train so we think we could get some special picture and enjoy a special trip. We bought 4 cheapest tickets which is seating tickets. In China, the tickets divided into two kinds which are the seating ticket and sleeping ticket. obversily, the seating one is more cheaper~

We left the Beijing North Train Station on 5pm, Mar 21st. There are few train in this station, most of them for short and un-important line to some small area. When we arrieved this station we knew the decision is right. The train station have few people but staffs are soooo nice. We have a good time during the trip with them.

When we wake up, the train almost empty and we will arrived in our terminate.

I'm crazy abt seaside time, lying in sand with lovely sunshine drinking cool coconut juice and feeling the cool water touch my toes. I want to make a environment about seaside life to express my indentity.

It is really difficult to make people lying in the sand so I let him standing~ I still want to make my indentity as a man, a strong muscled man! I was an amateur swiming athlete in China so I know where the muscles are as an athlete.

I searched many material including eyes, hands(left and right), arms, face, faribic of cloth and so on. We should think about lots of details when we doing this project. I often found I forgeting this, I forgeting that when I was making it. So i make a list at the first when I was doing this project.

I have download a software CorelDraw which use for graphic design and i want to use it to make my logo of the 2nd project. I download some tutorial and they are very useful. Comparing it with 3ds max, it is an easy and convenient software...

I use the dashboard taking from China. although it is a simple one but it is enough for printing the logo.

I like black and white style so I choose them as basic colour of my logo. K'er is my nickname in Chinese so I choose it as my 'brand' name~ I drew a cross at the right side with thin line and made a prospective effect of my name. At last, I think the colour is too simple so I added a welcome in the middle of the name. It can be attracted people's eyes i think.

I would like to make an environment of City Life. I think it should be a hot choice but I still insist to make it. Although I like country life and traveling, the city life can express my personality better.

I plan to make an avator by my portrait but I don't know how to make it so I went to surgery of Roma. She taught me not only think about "you", the avator can be everything just reflect my personaility and she taught me lots of useful skill to make it.

The most beautiful scene I think is the begining, a boy with white shirt standing in grass and listening the music from famous singer Lily-Chouchou. The Sweet Sixteen

The unique Scotland accent English still hover by my ears after watching the Sweet Sixteen by Ken Loach.
The whole film follow a warm-hearted boy who has a dream before 16 but the dream has not came true in the end. I feel there is a needle pricking my heart when his dream breaking.
Lem is expecting his imminent “sixteen” and preparing do something for his mum who will be released sonly. He bought a van which at riverside and he took his sister to live together. Because of this dream, he and some of his close friends need to raise lots of money so they sell drug and do some dangerous things. All of these just because he want to build a sweet home for his mum. His sister has hurt by mum for many times, but she still supports Lem to achieve his dream.
However, not all the things can be successful. These puerile teenagers were caught by a gangster. Accidentally, Lem, this tricky boy seemed as a talented boy by the ringleader of the gangster. Lem took the first lesson is he should break away from his close friends. During the process of Lem becoming a man from a boy, he should learn how to cut his relation off. He should away from all his friends and even his sister. Then he has to make a deal with the villain for saving his mum.
Lem finally bought the van and made some simple decoration making it looks sweet. But the sweet van is derided by Lem mum. The dream of “sweet sixteen” has been broken at that moment.
I was thinking of The Four Hundred Blows by Francois Truffaut in 1959 when I watching the Sweet Sixteen. The traitorous teenager is endeared by films. Obviously, both of the two mischievous boys get two mischievous mothers. Leo wants to get away from the home. However, Lem want his mum going back home and he rebuilds the fragmentized home before his mum releasing.

After watching this film, I have experienced joys and sorrows of life as though. The traitorous problem of teenager always grows from a problem family. Similarly, the object of they anti-social is family or school. Lem took the dagger and pricked. With this action, all of the doctrine and frame of Ken Loach is falling momentary. This is the “four hundred blows” by Ken’s style. With the prick, all the sweet dream of sixteen gone with wind.

Shunji Iwai (Iwai Shunji, born January 24, 1963 in Sendai, Japan, Miyagi prefecture). Iwai is a Japanese film director/video artist, writer and documentarian.
Iwai attended Yokohama National University, graduating in 1987. In 1988 he started out in the Japanese entertainment industry by directing TV dramas and music videos. Then, in 1993, his TV drama, Fireworks, brought him critical praise and an award from the Japanese Director's Association for his portrayal of a group of children in the town of Iioka.
In 1995 he went on to start his career in feature films, starting with Love Letter. In 1996 came the commercial and critical success of Swallowtail Butterfly, a multifaceted story of the fictional Yen Town, a city of immigrants in search of hope and a better life with three separate and distinct main characters. Ageha (Ayumi Ito), an orphaned teenage girl, Glico (Chara), a prostitute turned pop star, and Feihong (Hiroshi Mikami), an immigrant who manages Glico's career and owns the Yen Town club.
In 1998, Fine Line Features released Love Letter in the US theatrically under the new title When I Close My Eyes ; it was the first Iwai-directed film to be released in the US theatrically.
Iwai enjoyed another kind of success with this film as well, having teamed up with Takeshi Kobayashi to create the music for the film and the Yen Town Band, headed by Pop star Chara. The band they created became a commercial hit in Japan. He would team up with Kobayashi again in 2001 for the harrowing High School Drama All About Lily Chou-Chou. Kobayashi would create the music for the titular pop star, Lily Chou-Chou (voiced by Japanese singer Salyu), that is spread through the film (as well as Debussy), and later be released as an album entitled Kokyu (Breathe).
In 2002 he released a short, ARITA, in which he composed his own film score for the first time. In 2004 Iwai released Hana & Alice, his first comedy. He once again composed the film score himself.
His next project, a piece he's written about the Japanese indie Rock scene in the mid 1990s called Bandage, is slated for release in late 2006. It will be helmed by Ryuhei Kitamura, of Azumi fame. Curiosity has spread over why Iwai is not directing his own script, but no answer has been revealed. He has recently directed a commercial airing in Japan featuring Matsu Takako, whom he has not worked with since 1998.
October, 2006 sees the Iwai produced film Rainbow Song released in Japan. The film is directed by Naoto Kumazawa and was written by Ami Sakurai. It stars previous Iwai actors Hayato Ichihara, Yu Aoi and Shoko Aida. Also in 2006, Iwai spent time documenting and interviewing Kon Ichikawa while filming The Inugamis (Inugamike no ichizoku - 2006) to create a feature length documentary about the director's life.

Shugo Oshinari as Shusuke Hoshino (Hoshino Shusuke), the best student in school who, after a trip to Okinawa, becomes a bully.
Hayato Ichihara as Yuichi Hasumi (Hasumi Yūichi), Hoshino's former friend who becomes a reluctant member of his gang and will later on be bullied by Hoshino. Yuichi is the leading character in the movie. He admins an online Lily Chou-Chou BBS and is a great fan of the singer.
Ayumi Ito as Yoko Kuno (Kuno Yōko), a classmate and love interest of Yuichi's. A brilliant pianist, she is the envy of a clique of powerful girls, and therefore is also bullied. She is raped by Hoshino's gang and cuts off her hair as a way of avoiding Shiori Tsuda's fate.
Yû Aoi as Shiori Tsuda (Tsuda Shiori), a classmate of Yuichi who gets blackmailed into enjo kōsai by Hoshino. Yuichi befriends her later on, and introduces her to Lily. She commits suicide by jumping off an electric tower.
Yuki Ito as Kamino, one of the boys in the blue school uniforms at the train station when Kuno is introduced.
Izumi Inamori as Izumi Hoshino (Hoshino Izumi), Hoshino's mother. It is unknown if she is single. She loves her son very much and welcomes Yuichi with open arms during a junior high sleepover at the Hoshino household.
Salyu as Lily Chou-Chou, the enigmatic and ethereal singer that Yuichi, Tsuda and others in the film are fans of. She is hardly seen in the film, except on a video screen near the story's end, but her music is heard throughout the movie. She is said by her fans to channel what is called "the Ether", which is not unlike the invisible substance once thought by ancient philosophers to be the field that light travels through. This "ether" can be heard in the calm, melancholy songs she sings.

All About Lily Chou-Chou follows two childhood friends, Shusuke Hoshino and Yuichi Hasumi, from the end of their junior high school run until the beginning of high school. The film has a discontinuous storyline, starting midway through the story, just after high school begins, then flashes back to junior high and summer vacation, and then skips back to the present.
In junior high, Hoshino was the best student in school, but was picked on by his classmates. He was skilled at kendo, and had a good-looking young mom. Yuichi, on the other hand, was a quieter boy who fell in love with the music of the odd musician Lily Chou-Chou. During a group trip to Okinawa, Hoshino had a traumatic near-death experience and his personality changed from good-natured to dangerous and manipulative. In high school, he takes his place as class bully and shows his newfound power by ruining the lives of his classmates. An alternative voice, that of the character Shiori Tsuda, attributes Hoshino's personality change to divorce and family ruin; this matches several scenes connecting the decline of Yuichi - who has had to change his name - to divorce.
Yuichi, the confused and shy former friend of Hoshino, finds himself sucked into his now-tormentor's gang. He is ridiculed and coerced into doing Hoshino's dirty work, and finds solace only in the ethereal music Lily Chou-Chou makes. Things become far worse for everyone when Yuichi is assigned to supervising Shiori Tsuda, whom Hoshino has blackmailed into enjo kōsai, and another girl is raped by Hoshino's lackeys after unwittingly offending the school's girl gang. The whole quagmire comes to a head when Yuichi heads to Tokyo to see a Lily Chou-Chou concert, and encounters the last person he thought would be there.
The story of Hoshino and Yuichi is paralleled by messages posted to a Lily Chou-Chou Internet message board. It is left up to the viewer to figure out which characters in the story are posting under what names.

colour&lighting

I took this photo on New Year Eve at London Bridge. I used the Canon EOS 5D camera. It is fantastic photo!

I took these two photos in Plymouth last week. I did little change of the colour. The light is like star twinkling in the night.

The theme of colour and lighting is amusement park. Some of these pictures were photoed in HongKong this X'mas and others in UK. I changed the colour and contrast with Photoshop.
I was interested in the Graffiti and the Laser from last week. I knew Graffiti long time ago but I wasn't inteseted in it at that time. I have watched a lot the whole week and I asked some of my friends who love Graffiti in China. I told them to take some photos of their Graffiti in China.

Banksy has many Graffiti in UK and I have seen one in London. The Graffiti of Banksy always have some deep meaning. I enjoy his pinting very well.

I want to take some photo about graffiti on the street. I'm lovn't!!

Far from Heaven...Party Scene

The content of the scene can be divided to two parts. The first part is the party and the other is the story between Cathy and Frank after the party.
The content of the first scene is many friends of Cathy and Frank are having a party at Cathy’s home. They are talking and drinking. Before this party, Cathy found her husband Frank is homosexual and Cathy and her gardener went to the gallery exhibition together. Some of her close friends know these things and worry about her. On the party, Cathy still has a happy and sweet family in other people’s eyes. However, it is struggle in Cathy’s heart because she can not say anything about her husband to others and she should make her family seems like a heaven at the same time.
This film is not only mention the homosexuality but also mention the racial discrimination. This sequence includes them. On the party, some of Cathy’s friends are talking about they saw her with her gardener Raymond show at the gallery exhibition few days before and some of them even blame her. After party, Frank feel sorry to Cathy but when he kissing her he can not find the same feeling like before and even attack her.

The link among these shots is smooth and smart that it uses the dissolve effect. For example, the first shot changes to the senior woman talking to Cathy using the dissolve. We heard the voice of the senior woman and then watch her face slowly through the dissolve effect. Most parts of this sequence use dissolve. The effect makes audiences some sense because people have enough time to thought when things happened.
Most parts of this sequence flow smoothly and the rhythm makes people feeling comfortable at the party time. But, the rhythm is changing when only Cathy and Frank in the big dinning room after the party. The rate of change becomes fast and intense when Cathy and Frank are kissing then slow down after Frank attack Cathy.
The sequence also follows the conventions of continuity editing very well. During the party, most of shots is connect with Cathy helping friends take the empty glasses. The continuity between two shots is Cathy walking through the dinning-room with empty cups so that audiences can not feel the stop among these shot.
The relation between sounds and images complement each other. The sounds and the images are match. The party time is warm and images are bright and sweet. Then, the sound becomes deep and images become dark and cold. The tone changes, the sound and images also change. Put the sound, the image and the color together can be montage.

This sequence includes 5 single shot and it can be divided into two parts: party part and after party. The close-up is distinctive for closing to someone but there are also people around his/her. Besides, the close-up always use with high angle or low angle. For example, Cathy and her friends are talking, a man on the stairs and other people around him raising their heads look at him. It is partly seems like point-of-view shot.
The shot style of this sequence makes a obvious contrast. In the party part, we can always see people in the frame and the lighting is soft so that the whole scene is bright. However, only Cathy and Frank in the dinning room, the whole room is dark and quiet.
The shots favor the point of view of Cathy and the camera is almost following Cathy in this sequence. Cathy, wearing a beautiful vintage wine red skirt, is hostess of the party. Cathy is in the frame all the time of this sequence.
Most the sound is smooth and harmonious in this sequence. At the first part, the music is warm and elegant but then changes to cold and depressing especially the sound become low and deep after Frank attacking Cathy.

The Week...

I have a headache the whole week so almost I stayed in bed everyday...

I went to find my friends yesterday because they have a project about a beginning of a drama so I went with them.

We went to the Liverpool Street first. There is a big market which sells 2nd-hand things. I enjoyed printings on walls. The shape of them makes me some sense. Most people are from India or Mid-east. They are sooo friendly and gave up some useful tips for shooting. I am interested in the hand-maded specialities.

Then we went to the Covent Gardern. Because of sunday, there are crowed of people even today is sunday which many shops closed. We took lots of photos here because there was a acrobatic man do a marvellous show!

The past whole month i've stayed in London with my friends.

This week is fresher week. Lots of parties here~haha

The pic is my 1st used by my 1st pinhole camera!

I satisfied with my 1st project. It's really magic and i enjoy in the process that I do all of them myself.

I tend to make another fantastic pics but i shaken my hands...

It is really a wonderful week!
